We partner with nearby community-based Organizations (e.g. ABCD, Mass College of Art; Whittier Street Health Center, South End Community Health Center and others) to provide school-based and out-of-school-time academic; i.e. homework assistance, life-skills development support and health and wellness, as well as arts and culture workshops.
Ballet Classes
We offer Ballet dance classes; each class is held once a week. Students will learn some of the basic ballet positions, including some stretching, barre work, and center exercises. They begin to learn ballet terminology and teachers will incorporate creative learning methods into the curriculum.
Hip Hop
These classes teach a fast-paced, high-energy dance. After a short warm-up, class will focus on learning aerobic dance combinations done to pop and hip-hop music.
Keylatch Program
In Partnership with Harvard University’s Phillips Brooks House Association. The Keylatch After School Program works with a group of elementary school children from Boston’s South End. Now in its 22nd year, Keylatch has maintained deep ties with children, parents, and schools in the community. Children in the program experience valuable academic growth and enrichment as they develop strong relationships with their counselors.
Peer Leaders Program
The Peer Leaders program is an after school enrichment and leadership program and it is designed to train young leaders and to inspire youth involvement in our community. The program provides various leadership development opportunities to TDC’s youth residents and youth from the South End and Lower Roxbury neighborhood and beyond. The youth are exposed to academic tutoring, job skill training, art and culture and technology. It is important to empower young people to achieve social and academic excellence in their community. We are Building Future Leaders. We are Building Strong Leaders. We are Building Smart Leaders.
